Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - Commissions
The Process
Please expect up to 30 business days due to drying time and the artistic process.
The commissioning process is not only simple—it’s a lot of fun. It’s your chance to collaborate directly with the artist to create a truly personalized piece of art.
We begin with a consultation, where we’ll ask you a few questions to better understand your vision. From there, we’ll establish a time to capture your pet's image (and yours if it is a pet and parent portrait) either via Zoom or via static image.
We'll also discuss logistical details such as expected timing, provide an estimated delivery date, and collect a down payment before getting started.
If you'd like to get a head start, feel free to fill out the form on your chosen artist’s page. Here are some of the details we’ll want to learn from you:
- What size would you like for your piece?
- Would you like to portray a specific location, background, or setting?
What’s your pet’s name and breed? - Should we include details like a collar, tag, bow, or bandana? Please describe.
- Do you want to include a favorite toy or other props?
- Where do you plan to display the artwork? (We’ll consider lighting and how it affects color choices.)
- Do you have any specific color preferences—or colors you’d like to avoid?
- Is this a gift? Would you like to include a personal message on the back?
- Would you like to schedule a live Zoom or FaceTime session to help us capture the perfect image of you and your pet?
We’re excited to bring your vision to life and make the experience as personal and meaningful as the artwork itself.
