While cats and dogs are common subjects for Lee, he also enjoys bringing to life the beauty of more exotic animals like horses, wolves, and big cats. His work blends fine detail with expressive energy, creating soft yet majestic portrait that his pet partent clients adore.

Artist's Statement

I’ve been drawing all types of subjects since I was a teenager. Growing up I had pets, either cats or dogs so this is a natural progression for me to draw and paint pets. I have drawn my dog Stewart’s portrait often and I have done many other pet portraits for family and friends.

I draw in pastel, graphite and charcoal. I also like to draw other animals like horses, wolves and big cats. I find that pastels render a soft rich blended look with good detail that allows me to capture expressions unique to every pet.
